You are given four cards representing four numbers between 1-10. Using basic mathematical operations, addition (+), subtraction (-), multiplication (×), division (÷) and parentheses (()), you need to manipulate the numbers and achieve exactly 24.
Every card needs to be used once and only once. An ace equals 1.
Example:
2, 10, 8, 4
Possible solutions:
2+10+8+4
2×10+8-4
(2+10)×8÷4
(2×8-10)×4
...
In singleplayer you are dealt four cards and must find a way to get to 24. You must enter your solution by tapping the cards and the operators. Think of it like a calculator.
Hit "Submit" and you'll get 2 points, if your answer is correct. If you answer incorrectly you lose 2 points. Your points can be seen in the bottom left corner.
Not every set can be solved. If you're stuck, hit "Solutions" and a few solutions will be displayed. Unless it was an impossible set you will get a 2 points penalty.
You also have the option to enable a timer to be displayed in the bottom right corner. Try to be fast!
Every move is recorded for your statistics. You can set conditions in the settings and compete on the global leaderboards.
In local multiplayer you compete against a friend to be the fastest to achieve 24.
Instead of entering a solution, the first player to press his button needs to explain his solution to the opponent. Should he fail to do so within a few seconds, the opponent can decline his suggestion resulting in a 2 points penalty for the first player.
On the other hand, if the solution suggested is correct, the opponent should press the accept button, awarding 2 points to the first player.
Should both players agree upon being stuck, solutions can be displayed with no penalty.
You have the option to enable a timer to be displayed in the middle of the screen. You can also choose between a side by side and a face to face layout. The options also allow the player names to be changed.
How long you want to play is up to you. You can define one or several win conditions which will be valid both for single- and multiplayer.
The game can be won after a certain amount of time, number of points or number of rounds.
You can access challenges by swiping left on the main screen. When you complete a challenge your score gets uploaded to the global leaderboards.
You can access achievements and leaderboards on the "Stats" screen.
In multiplayer mode, the player with the most points wins.
There are three difficulties:
• Easy: Only solvable sets.
• Normal: Impossible sets may also appear.
• Hard: Only sets with a small number of solutions will be given.
• Keep calm and concentrate.
• Look out for possibilities to get 6×4 or 8×3.
• Be patient and keep practicing. Mental arithmetic is trainable.
• There's a hidden pause button in the middle of the screen.
• When entering your solution, missing parentheses will be added.
Remember these:
6×4 = 24
8×3 = 24
12×2 = 24
14+10 = 24
15+9 = 24
16+8 = 24
18+6 = 24
25-1 = 24
30-6 = 24
